Cryptoming on his return

Cryptomining, where the processor capacity of unsuspecting users is hijacked for the generation of crypto coins, is on the retreat. That says online security guard Malwarebytes.

The reason is obvious: the price of crypto coins collapsed at the beginning of this year and has barely recovered. It is simply no longer worth it to put a lot of energy into it. Cryptomination software is also often considered to be harmful by online security guards.

The number of 'attacks' in this area has also decreased by 26 percent.

Cryptomining reached its peak in October 2017, when the Bitcoin reached a very high value.

The use of malware has since risen sharply again.
